So..... we have ALL managed the first week back – HOORAY and WELL DONE!! Your children have loved being back in school with their friends, with their teachers and with all of the other adults in the school.
Attendance has been over 99%.
We have been REALLY impressed with the enthusiasm they have shown, their attitude to learning and their behaviour.
Thank you for your support and patience as we tweaked our practice during the week – it seems to have worked well, especially the arrangements at the end of the day.
There may well be other changes but we will keep you informed as we move forward through the website and with text or Dojo messages.
We know that some of you are still anxious about social distancing both at the beginning and at the end of the day. There are a lot of pupils at the school so there will be a lot of adults around the site at these times – that is why we have staggered start and end times. BUT – we rely on YOU to maintain social distancing as far as is possible when you are either dropping off or picking up your children. This ensures that EVERYONE stays safe.
Of course, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask outside then we would encourage you to do so. If you do have concerns please make sure you talk to us about them. We WILL listen.
We rely on you to make sure your children are healthy when they come into school that is why we are not taking their temperature before they come in – quite apart from the practical problems that involves with over 750 pupils!! However, if any of the children show any signs of ill health we will take their temperature IMMEDIATELY and advise you of the outcome. If necessary we will isolate that child STRAIGHTAWAY.
Please remember that when your children are in school we have parental responsibility for them and we take that responsibility very seriously indeed. Take care and continue to stay safe.
