Emotional Support
Our emotional support team work across the school to ensure that children are emotionally secure and in a place of safety which will then allow them to access the other aspects of the curriculum that we provide. We have a number of designated 'calm' spaces for children to use in order to regulate their emotions and they are supported by staff in doing so.
ELSA
Within school we have a number of ELSA trained teaching assistants who deliver individualised support programmes to meet the emotional needs of identified children in their care. As a school we know children learn better and are happier in school if their emotional needs are also addressed.
Children who require pastoral intervention or ELSA may be supported with their social skills, emotions, bereavement, social stories and therapeutic stories, anger management, self-esteem, counselling skills such as solution focus and friendship. Please note this is not an exhaustive list.
